ANNUAL CERS/HMBP SERVICE

$250

for 12 months

Routine CERS/HMBP assistance

When Is My San Diego HMBP Due?

San Diego County does not use one universal January–March filing period. Annual timing follows the facility’s reporting history. Businesses subject to the HMBP program must address the annual reporting requirement each year. For facilities eligible to use CERS certification, certification may satisfy the annual requirement, while a full HMBP submittal is generally required at least every three years.

Your facility’s prior CERS reporting dates determine the applicable timing.

Annual Certification vs. Full Submittal

ANNUAL CERTIFICATION
For eligible facilities whose existing HMBP information remains accurate, CERS allows the existing information to be certified annually.

FULL HMBP SUBMITTAL
A full submittal requires reviewing the Facility Information, Hazardous Materials Inventory, and Emergency Response & Training Plans elements, updating them as needed, and submitting them together.

Changed Something During the Year?

Certain changes can require the HMBP to be updated outside the normal annual timing. If significant facility, inventory, ownership, location, or operational changes have occurred, JG Hazmat will review whether the work remains within the standard service or requires a different scope.

CERS Not Accepted or Inspection Corrections?

If your CERS submittal was Not Accepted or an inspection identified CERS/HMBP deficiencies, start with a correction review. JG Hazmat will determine whether the requested work falls within its services. If the complete inspection report or regulator comments are needed to determine scope, we will request them by email.

Frequently Asked Questions
